Gayle Perreira, Event Manager

In 2009 Gayle took over race-day management of all Wild Adventure Race events. This includes everything from race registration, to catering, to coordinating volunteer assignments, and so much more! She's even known to staff a TA when necessary. Her organizational skills behind the scenes help provide a safe and fun environment for everyone.

Rick Odgers, Race Director - 2012 Sprint Series

Rick was originally “inspired” in 2003 to try adventure racing by friends who didn’t think he could do it. Many, many races later, including several multi day events, he now hopes to inspire others to race by letting them know that they CAN do it.

Rick is the owner of MandatoryGear.com, an online adventure racing gear store, and a developer of a series of outdoor fitness classes based on AR concepts. He is also a Beautiful Man... Just ask Jason.

Liz DeJonge, Event Coordinator - 2012 Sprint Series

In 2006 Liz joined a team of first time racers to compete in the Minnesota Adventure Race Series. Despite the perils of being a first time racer, her love of the "suffer-fest" (race) began. Since that time she has enjoyed competing, providing support for local teams at multi-day races, and creating outdoor fitness classes based on AR concepts. Liz is passionate about sharing the world of racing and the AR community with newcomers to the sport. Along with Rick, she will be developing the 2012 Wild Adventure Race Sprint Series.

Liz is a licensed Physical Therapist specializing in injury prevention with postural restoration therapy for athletes and couch potatoes alike.

Mike McCay, Ropes Master

Since 2004, Mike McCay has served as the Ropes Training Consultant for Wild Adventure Race. As part of the training team, he is responsible for instructing adventure racers in the proper use of climbing, rappelling, and ascending apparatus. He is part owner and primary operator of Stillpoint Adventures, LLC, a guiding company working in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

For the last ten plus years (2000-Current) Mike has worked with Stillpoint Adventures to instruct beginners in the art of ropework, belaying, and rock climbing, and facilitate safe and effective climbing trips to larger climbing areas in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He has successfully guided over 300 students from the ages of 12-65 in the Twin Cities area.

Mike Fetzik, Assistant Course Setter

Willing volunteer is Mike's middle name. There is almost nothing he wouldn't do to help make the Wild Adventure Race events more successful and more fun for all involved. One year he even loaned a racer some of his own dry clothing out on the course... can you guess what article he willingly gave up but didn't want back?

Mike provides critical support in scouting the race courses, as well as setting and vetting the control locations.

Megan Mrozek, Medical Team and TA Goddess

Megan began volunteering with Wild Adventure Race in 2007 and has been hooked ever since! She can be found at Wild Adventure Race events taking charge at Transition Areas and ensuring the race runs without a hitch. In addition to providing medical support to Wild AR racers, Megan works as a member of the Red Cross Emergency Medical Services team at events around the Twin Cities, and was part of the medical team for Primal Quest Badlands in 2009.

Megan is a nationally registered EMT-B. She was drawn to adventure racing after completing several triathlons, and looks forward to soon joining the AR ranks as well!
